Tubbies up for telly Oscar;In brief

THE Teletubbies are up for an Emmy, TV's Oscar equivalent. America's National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has nominated them for a daytime television award for Outstanding Pre-School Children's Series. Although the content had to be tweaked for transatlantic consumption, with new Americanised film sequences and adult speech, this still represents a rare achievement for a children's programme from Britain.
