Tune in

6th April 2001 at 01:00
Young people often know what music they like but don't find it easy to say why. Tune In is a free pack from Pepsi that encourages pupils at key stage 4 to write about pop bands and the charts in ways that go beyond the usual promotional hype. It contains a set of worksheets with helpful suggestions for developig fans' enthusiasm into description, analysis and coherent argument. There is also scope for students to think about the music business as an institution and within its social setting, converting myths into sober historical reality.

Copies of the Tune In can be ordered from www.pepsi.yahoo.co.uk
