Tutor tunes

Gloomier than Les Miserables, more feral than Cats and stranger than Jerry Springer. Staffroom: The Musical could be just what the West End needs if banter in the TES online staffroom is anything to go by.

Teachers were picking the tunes that best summed up school life, and choices ranged from the deranged (The Lunatics are Taking Over the Asylum) to the unhinged ("anything by Madness").

But it wasn't all padded cells. "Sisters are doin' it for Themselves - we are one of those 90 per cent female teams who have a reputation for just going for it", wrote squizita. And Miss303 opted for something a bit more pedestrian. "Stairway to Heaven? Three flights of stairs five times a day.

I just think of the toning benefits."
