Two on murder charge

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a college tutor, writes Liam Creedon, of the Press Association.

Darren Botchett, 33, and Ian Richards, 29, appeared before Bristol crown court on Thursday, accused of the murder of Lawrence Hart on August 18.

Mr Hart, 53, died in the grounds of Hawkwood college, Stroud, Gloucestershire, where he taught meditation techniques.

Botchett, of Matson Avenue, Gloucester, and Richards, of Jersey Road, Gloucester, are also accused of wounding college caretaker John Jordan, 52, on the same date.

The pair were remanded in custody to appear at Bristol crown court on a date to be fixed.
