"Bike: Cycles. A tour of bicycle design 1825-2000" runs at the Design Museum, Shad Thames, London SE1, until March 22. Among the 85 bikes on display are pre-pedal machines, velocipedes, high and safety bicycles, and the latest models and prototypes. The exhibition explores such advances as the chain drive and pneumatic tyres in the 1890s and suspension using aeroplane and automobile technology.
