UN International Year for a Culture of Peace

The year 2000 is the UN International Year for a Culture of Peace. A pack for seven to14-year- olds provides a range of activities to promote an alternative to Remembrance Day. Building Peace Where I Live invites pupils to consider six themes: communal participation; mutual respect; avoiding violence; sharing resources; resolving conflicts; and celebrating differences. Each is preseted through drama, art, music, narrative and discussion. There is also an A3 poster.
