From the not-for-profit recycling initiative Bankit, Go Recycle is a new education resource aimed at helping schools and local authorities educate children about waste and recycling. The resource is free and provides quizzes for key stages 1 and 2 pupils as well as lesson plans and downloadable worksheets for teachers. For key stage 2 there are four video clips explaining the energy benefits of reusing products rather than making new ones, the importance of reducing waste and recycling. The final video clip shows how the UK is trailing many other European countries in the amounts of glass it recycles and the role that children can play in improving this. A glossary is available explaining words and phrases used in the resource.
