Aberdeen and South Grampian District Volleyball Association staged the first regional championships to be held in Scotland at under-13 and under-11 level last month.

About 50 children took part in the event, which was aimed at schools and junior clubs and attracted entries from Dundee and the Edinburgh area in addition to a strong representation from Aberdeenshire.

Westhill junior volleyball club won the overall title.
