East Lothian is targetting schoolchildren as young as eight in its attempt to get beach volleyball off the ground.

Volleyball development officer Margaret Ann Fleming will run beach volleyball coaching clinics for eight to 12-year-olds at the East each, North Berwick every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm, starting on July 3.

"We tried to target teenagers last year but they seemed to think it was uncool, so we're going after younger children this time," explained Miss Fleming.
