Volunteers needed for childrens' summer camp
I'm 19 years old, I am writing to you on behalf of a voluntary organisation called GlosAid Youth Action, for which I have been a volunteer for two years. We are a registered charity, which has been helping disadvantaged children for nearly 40 years by providing them with a holiday they would not otherwise receive.
The main ethos of our organisation is that it helps to build the strengths and extend the skills GlosAid volunteers already have, as well as help them discover new ones. The challenges faced by a volunteer on our summer camp build up their team work skills, initiative and caring capabilities.
This is where we ask for your help. We are at a stage where we have most of the money and most of the nominated children, but we are low on volunteers. If we don't find 70 people aged between 16 and 26, our camp will not run. This sort of experience speaks volumes on CVs.
Transport, food and accommodation costs are covered, and there is also a free of-charge training weekend, or training evening sessions, one of which must be attended.
This year's camp dates are August 7 24. We will be holding a training weekend nearer the time. Perhaps you know a person who would like to take the challenge?
