Wags are role models

Footballers' wives and girlfriends set an excellent example to teenagers through their dedication to hard study, government officials have said. Most so-called Wags gained at least the equivalent of five good GCSEs, according to the Learning and Skills Council. Wayne Rooney's fiancee Coleen McLoughlin has 10 GCSEs, while Melanie Slade, girlfriend of Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, recently passed her A-level exams.
