Wales's play-based foundation stage attracting interest from across Europe

* Wales's play-based foundation stage for three to seven-year-olds is attracting interest from across Europe, Assembly members were told. The pilot initiative is making Wales a pioneer in learning, said civil servant Alan Lansdown. He said officials were assessing the costs involved and the staffing implications of the scheme, which is being piloted by schools and playgroups across Wales.
