There appears to be no stopping Elaine Stephen, who combines being an inventor with teaching at Buchanhaven Primary School in Aberdeenshire.

She returned last week from the European Woman InventorsInnovators awards in Germany, where she won two prizes including a special recognition award for her child safety device, the Walkodile.

The flexible harness, designed to keep children safe on trips, won two awards at British ceremonies earlier this year.
