We are indebted to the Association of Teachers and Lecturers' Report magazine for an insight into the selection of Chris Woodhead's successor at Ofsted. Mike Tomlinson has waited until the 10th anniversary commemorations f the Gulf War this week to reveal one of his CV's major selling points:

"being involved in restoring the education system in Kuwait immediately after the war". Now that's what we call relevant experience.
