That was close, baby

It was almost a coincidence the like of which is never seen outside Charles Dickens novels, but in the end it turned out to be an alarm.

On the very day The TES Magazine featuring a heavily pregnant teenager on the cover arrived in staffrooms, the model started experiencing labour pains. But within hours the stand-easy call rang out, as it seemed the bump was not ready to emerge.

The young mother was one of several pupils at the Schoolgirl Mum's Unit in Hull who posed to illustrate our article on some of the positive outcomes of teenage motherhood.

We are pleased to report it was only a temporary delay, as 10 days later our model gave birth to a 6lb 5oz girl. At least it will make it an unusual start to the baby album.
