Watch out for the slammer

Crew Training is the latest addition to Action Stations attraction at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The centre brings the modern Royal Navy to life through a huge array ofhi-tech simulators, interactive games and action-packed film. It helps develop teamwork and communication through rocket workshops, code and cipher challenges, team challenges, quizzes and practical literacy and numeracy workshops. Getting incarcerated in The Slammer, a genuine Victorian prison cell block, is one of the most popular activities. Programmes can be provided for key stage 2 to post-16 science, maths, English, ICT and leisure and tourism. Tel: 023 92893317; education@actionstations.org; www.actionstations.org.
