Water babies

A swimming charter designed to help all children to learn water skills was launched this week by former Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew. It gives advice to schools on planning lessons and encouraging children to take part. This is the latest move by the Government to improve school swimming following a TES survey which showed that more than 100,000 children leave primary school each year without mastering basic swimming skills. www.teachernet.gov.ukpe
