Welcome gym and vitamin d

26th May 2006 at 01:00
You've probably noticed how many fads and fashions there are in education - the latest way to teach reading, value-led curricula, new ideas from behaviour management gurus, and tricks to maximise learning. One of these, Brain Gym, has been discussed in the media a lot recently, and online on www.tes.co.uk. Like many trends, Brain Gym has been a mystery to me, so I was fascinated to read our feature this month - and there seems toJbe some common sense in it. See page 10, and tell us what you think.

We see what life is like inside a Hindu home on page 6, and for those of you who have found it easier to book a place in heaven than a slot in your school's ICT suite, our expert on teacher chores, Roy Watson-Davies,Jhelps you make the most of your precious time in that hallowed place. See page 7.

Let's be thankful thatJthe summer term is here, and with it, we hope, the summer. I hope you're getting through those reports and exams, and soaking up some vitamin D. You're a hard working teacher, you need it.

See you next month.
