VIDEO problems of a different kind at the first induction day for the General Teaching Council.

Delegates assembled to be addressed by Lord Puttnam, Carol Adams et al. No straightforward speeches, though - Lord P, having a bit of a track record in the visul arts, thought clips of the Teaching Oscars would liven things up nicely.

Great idea - until it came to switching the video on, an act beyond anyone on the top table. Eventually, someone had to be summoned from reception to press the button...
