* "Regular meetings with a mentor can help significantly. In the school I attended, we were in a tutor group for registration but had nothing to do with that member of staff. Instead, at the start of the year, we wrote down the names of three people we wanted as a personal tutor and were allocated one. Having a member of staff you know, like and trust can make all the difference." coolasacucumber
