What's it all about, Ralphie?

The Teacher Training Agency's latest attempts to attract people to the profession include boasts of pound;17,000 salaries for new recruits and an extraordinary pound;20,000 for those in London. (That's just pound;7,000 less than a newly recruited Tube driver.) If you are good and keep scratching away at that blackboard, you might get to the dizzy heights of pound;24,000, at the top of the normal classroom pay spine. A few more years and you might pass the threshold and reach a fabulous pound;31,000 as an "experienced" classroom teacher. As TTA chief executive Ralph Tabberer says: "There has never been a better time to enter teaching."

Alternatively, you might employ "exemplary analytical" skills in the pound;30,000-a-year post of personal assistant to Mr Tabberer (his salary is pound;107,000). Ring 0207 588 3588 for details.
