Who Wrote?

1."Be it a weakness, it deserves some praise, We love the play-place of our early days; The scene is touching, and the heart is stone That feels not at that sight, and feels at none.

The wall on which we tried out graving skill, The very name we carved subsisting still; The bench on which we sat which deep employ'd.

Though mangled, hack'd, and hew'd, not yet destroy'd; The little ones unbutton'd, glowing hot, Playing our games, and on the very spot; As happy as we once, to kneel and draw The chalky ring, the knuckle down at taw To pitch the ball into the grounded hat, Or drive it with a dextrous pat"

2.Mr Jeavons said that I liked maths because it was safe. He said I liked maths because it meant solving problems, and these problems were difficult and interesting, but there was always a straightforward answer at the end.

And what he meant was that maths wasn't like life because in life there are no straightforward answers at the end."
