Feverish excitement is gripping the granite city as councillors wrestle with The Great Issue - renaming the revered Aberdeen Grammar School.

One suggestion bouncing off the granite is that, to honour one who has the freedom of th city, it should be called the "Winnie Mandela Academy". Old South African hands suggest this would signal a disciplinary regime which would impress the grammar's parents, particularly those with boys in the football team.
