Wipe away distractions

To avoid distractions, ensure that you always have a box of tissues and a packet of baby wet wipes in your classroom.

This covers most issues: pupils wanting to leave the room - and therefore miss or disrupt your lesson - so they can blow their nose or wash their hands because they are covered in PVAglue.

Sooner or later, those who are trying it on merely to escape for a short while realise they are not going to get out of class and so give up asking.

Those who are genuine can be sorted out quickly and don't miss your fabulous teaching
