The Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh is celebrating its first birthday this month with an Old Town Festival. In its first 12 months, 48,500 people have visited its exhibitions on Scotland's Stories and John Knox House: Inside History; 22,000 have attended storytelling events, and 100,000 have taken part in outreach events across Scotland.
The Old Town Festival will run from June 18-July 1, and feature family storytelling, poetry evenings, walks, talks, film and storytelling theatre.
The popular production Kidnapped: When Kilts were Banned will return for public and school audiences for children aged seven upwards.
