'Year 8 in a suit' Miliband is the rising star of politics

THE talk is of him being a future prime minister but now it is official - school standards minister David Miliband is a "rising star". The 37-year-old South Shields MP beat fellow parliamentary newcomers to the title in the 2003 Channel 4 political awards. Mr Miliband, once described as looking like a Year 8 in a suit, was "flattered and honoured" but said:

"I'm aware that winners of these awards often go on to fall flat on their faces straight afterwards and I shall try to avoid this at all costs."
