Means: Unkind andor unfair
Usage: "You mugged off Mr King? That's well dark, man"
Words that the Yoof use to condemn their allies should always be savoured, being as they are few and far between. But when your charges do turn on each other, like Golding intended, this term is sure to never be far from their mouths. Upping the ante of the word's original evil overtones, this understated yet purposeful attack has been going strong since its heyday in 1990s London and is thought to originate from the black Caribbean community (although the word itself derives, rather fittingly, from the Germanic word "dork"). Of course, rather than being directed at other pupils it may occasionally come in your direction if homework reaches particularly grisly levels. But then many will find that equally enjoyable.
