Young poets on the move
* I am the God of Ear Wax
My name is Waxy
I send wax from ear to ear
I wish wax could clog every ear in the world
My enemy is cotton wool buds
My friends call me cloggy because of this wish
To take over every ear in the world
We have to build wax planes
The wax family will never give up
Never, Never, Never
Luke Green, age 11
I AM THE GODDESS OF FIRE
* My name is Firona
I live in your bonfire, I am very mean!
On bonfire night, everynight
I come over and act like the Queen
* I spit, I splat and my worst enemy is water
My best friend is the sun
Because he is very fun!
Sophie Lynn, age 9
Pupis at Bevendean Primary School, Brighton, have been working with poet Matthew Sweeney.
Sweeney's two-day residency is part of the Brighton Festival "Poetry in Motion" project.
Five professional poets have been working with Years 5 and 6 in eight schools to produce poems which will be entered - along with those from other schools in the area - for display on all of Brighton and Hove's buses (around 220) during the Brighton Festival in May.
On May 19 the Poetry Bus will tour the town, with poets aboard giving performances to the public.
