Do you know your peloton from your maillot jaune?

The Tour de France starts in London and Kent this weekend, so this is the perfect opportunity to use the famous cycle marathon as a basis for some interesting French lessons.

The National Advisory Centre on Early Language Learning lists a range of useful websites offering cross-cultural and language learning activities.

Some of the best resources are featured on the multilingual Tour de France website, and the BBC provides an excellent phrasebook of cycle-race terminology.

The race continues in France until July 29.
