On your marks, coach

Scottish Athletics is planning to set up a professional coaching structure for every level of athletics.

A performance development manager will be appointed soon to oversee the new approach, which will see up to 100 coaches receive some remuneration for working with athletes. Closer links will be established between clubs and schools as part of the move to produce more talented athletes.
