    • As someone who has worked in three of these schools, it wouldn’t matter how much you paid me - I wouldn’t go back. You would have to offer a lot of other things, not money and a masters degree. That’s laughable. You can get a masters for free in almost any county anyway. I did. I’ll stay at St Trinian’s now I have managed to get there, thanks. No amount of money would drag me back.

        • How much is the net sum worth? Not enough. Divide the gross by 36 months and you see it’s pound;277 per month extra, which is not a huge amount after tax, national insurance, pension etc. Not nearly enough to make most move.

            • Unless you have taught at such a school, you won’t appreciate how difficult it is to get kids into the classroom from the corridors, never mind get them to sit down and listen. Confiscate mobiles and iPods? In reception two minutes later will be the thuggish “parent” insisting they’ll see you at the gates with a baseball bat later. And after a long day, you go out to the car park to discover your tyres slashed.

                    • Some of these schools are rated outstanding by Ofsted. One in particular my children attended and is an excellent school. Daughter got all As at A- level and is now at an excellent university. I don’t understand. I thought they were supposed to be really “bad” schools.

                        • Since when did paying more money make people better teachers? Having worked in an organisation that tried the golden handshake to recruit staff, I can confirm it was a failure.
