Ruth Yates, 10, is one of several talented young writers at the Maharishi School whose work was submitted by their teacher Cliff Yates.
It was obvious from the quality of the work received from this school, that poetry is enjoyed enormously by the teacher and students. It made delightful and cheering reading. THE LIFE OF A PIECE OF SEAWEED
I’d like to be some seaweed
and floppily lie on the sands
while the sea laps my head and legs
and dozily licks my hands.
I’d like to be some seaweed
and dream a seaweed dream
I’d have a salt bath every day
and stay immaculately clean.
I’d like to be some seaweed
I’d never have to work
I’d lazily, dozily, floppily, poppily
on the wet sand lurk
