The SQA awards are intended to celebrate success and the diversity of achievement of young and not so young in Scotland - not just academic attainment."It is important that special effort and special commitment are given particular recognition," the authority states.
"We want to recognise candidates who have faced up to and overcome their own particular challenges andor have put their qualifications to good use."
Anton Colella, the SQA's chief executive, welcomed the appearance of The TES Scotland among "our roster of top-class sponsors". He added: "The SQA award finalists all represent real positive achievements and it's terrific that, through this sponsorship, these stories can be told through the involvement of The TESS."
The other sponsors include RM, Learndirect Scotland, Leckie and Leckie, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.
Although the traditional emphasis of the exams is on the performance of school pupils, the SQA's annual awards also involve college students, vocational qualifications, businesses which demonstrate a commitment to staff development, training providers, and partnerships.
The awards ceremony will be at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on November 22, and The TESS will preview it on November 19.
