Paul Hamill’s research into what pupils themselves feel has produced an “Identikit” picture of the inclusive teacher who: * Does not make you feel stupid, listens to you, encourages you, has time for you and gives you work you can do.
* Likes teaching children and their subject, explains things patiently when you get stuck and does not shout.
* Is strict but can take a joke, allows you to express your opinion, treats everyone equally, not just “the brainy ones”, makes allowances and is forgiving.
