An exhibition of Ordnance Survey, Britain’s national mapping agency, has just opened at the Rheged Centre in Penrith, Cumbria.
It includes maps and aerial photographs of Cumbria, a theodolite and satellite-based GPS kit and a series of information panels tracing surveying and map-making over more than 200 years. Interactive resources are available on a screen linked live to the OS website.
