A primary school was shut this week after thieves stole the fuel needed to heat its buildings during the cold snap. Head Tania Armstrong-Owen said she had requested an emergency delivery of oil for the 50-pupil Ysgol Rhewl in Ruthin, North Wales. Mrs Armstrong-Owen branded the thieves “callous”. “I am absolutely appalled. It is a really close community and we are a small and rural school,” she said.
