Organisers of the recent Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, baffled by the entry of a team from Strathclyde University under the name “The Pensadors”, would have been unbaffled by an explanation in the yooni’s magazine Prism.

“Pensador”, as every Glasgow primary pupil knows, is Portuguese for “thinker” and the symbol of Angola, so what better name for a group of runners from the Graduate School of Business in their efforts to raise funds for a primary school project in the African country.

The fact that Glasgow’s Burrell Collection is home to Rodin’s statue of the same name was, according to one of the team, “a neat way of linking the two places and the thinkers of the university”.

Now you know. Anyone pensadoring about sending a donation should contact peter@gsb. strath.ac.uk
