More than 3,000 primary pupils are preparing to take part in the finals of a national maths competition next month.
Teachers in more than 2,900 schools in England and Wales entered about 100,000 students from Years 5 and 6 into the first round of the Primary Maths Challenge last month, when they took a test with several multiple-choice problems.
Winners from each school were presented with gold, silver and bronze medallions and are now preparing for next month’s finals.
