Threat of jail for sex advice lifted

THE Home Office is to amend the Sexual Offences Bill after The TES reported last week that teachers could be imprisoned for up to 14 years for giving certain types of advice on sex to individual pupils. Changes mean teachers will be able to give sex advice on sex that safeguards pupils’ emotional well-being, protects health, or prevents teen pregnancy.
