After reading “The Issue: Uniform” (TES Magazine, October 8), I would like to share my experiences of witnessing bright blue shoes, baggy tracksuit bottoms, criminally patterned shirts, T-shirts with “trendy” comments and an absolutely ridiculous bright orange blazer. Were the wearers of these hideous items of clothing sent home to change? No! Why? Because it was the staff wearing them.
If you want children to wear uniform, the teachers should set the example and also wear a uniform. Like the children, they should accept punishment for not wearing it correctly and also not be given subsidised uniform.
