It is incredibly important to enable young people to experience interactive science subjects, as it makes a positive impact on their understanding and enjoyment. Schools have access to wonderful initiatives to bring science subjects to life.

Stemnet (the science, technology, engineering and maths network), working with government departments and thousands of businesses and schools UK- wide, supports teachers in inspiring young people and demonstrating the possibilities of science subjects and careers.

We have more than 20,000 Stem ambassadors from the worlds of science, technology, engineering and maths, who support teachers and schools in providing students with practical, “real-life” activities, aiming to inspire students to consider science subject choices and, crucially, consider science-based career opportunities in the future.

We also enable students to discover science subjects in a fun, stimulating learning environment outside classrooms, through the Stem clubs network, which already offers almost 1,000 schools free professional expertise and guidance in running an after-school club. We are working to support every secondary school in the UK through the network by 2012.
