If primary schools did cheat in this year’s key stage 2 tests, they seem to be very good at it.
Only one of the 2,000 schools spot-checked has so far warranted further investigation, according to the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority although the full results are still awaited.
Of the 1,000 reports already in, 24 were initially found to be dubious, mostly as a result of papers being stored in insecure places, or packages being opened early.
A QCA spokeswoman said: “It appears there were problems with just a very tiny proportion of schools.’’
