Too important for the politicians

A recent article (TES, December 22) asked what next for education in the United States now that there was to be a new president. If education is as important as we believe, then isn’t it time to take it out of the party political arena?

Every prospective government promises “better” than the opposition and, once i power, begins the frenetic changes that will “deliver”. Great strides have been made in our education service but now is the time to hand over the reins to a non party-political forum to chart the way ahead.
