EDUCATION Secretary David Blunkett’s guidelines on homework have encountered stiff opposition - from pupils. They reckon more than an hour a night is too much, even for the older pupils, according to a MORI poll commissioned by the Office for Standards in Education. Mr Blunkett believes GCSE students should do up to two-and-a-half hours a night. The MORI study also found that fewer than half of pupils were aware their school had been visited by Ofsted.
