Teenagers will be able to demonstrate their language skills to potential employers using a toolkit being launched by the National Centre for Languages this month.
Free and available as a hard copy, on CD-Rom or to download from the internet, the toolkit has been specially designed for those undertaking, organising or hosting language work experience.
In the review of modern foreign languages that Lord Dearing conducted for the Government, he recommended that more opportunities be created for overseas visits and work experience for students.
The toolkit is aimed at helping pupils develop the language and cultural skills they need for such visits, to help teachers prepare for the placements and review them afterwards, and to provide a record of students’
achievement.
