THE popular Children’s Classic Concerts, which play to thousands of young children around Scotland each year, look set to receive a major boost in a new “co-promotion” with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
The concerts, in which national orchestras have played excerpts of famous works, were set up and run by a small organisation called Children’s Classic Concerts ad regularly presented by flautist Atarah Ben-Tovim.
But despite their success with family audiences, critics have suggested they would benefit from a greater educational input. The RSNO’s education manager has masterminded the School Proms and Kids Proms for audiences in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
