The Government has confirmed that it will be technically possible to become a teacher in just one term. After consultation, ministers this week announced two new school-based training routes, for graduate and registered teachers. Graduate teachers would normally train for a year; registered teachers for two years. But graduates with extensive teaching experience (for example, in FE) could train for just a term. Registered teachers must have had two years of higher education.
