Your report on the A-level entry scores of undergraduate teacher training students is potentially misleading (“Primary trainees lack A-levels, admits TDA”, July 24). Any entrants who do not have standard A-level qualifications will have alternative qualifications at the same level or higher. As for the programmes themselves, research shows that they are extremely well thought of by Ofsted, schools and newly qualified teachers themselves.
