Trapped in a room full of budding Blairs;Jotter

Students at the (deep breath) Scottish Centre for Physical Education and Human Movement Studies at Cramond in Edinburgh have not been doing somersaults over the prospect of placements at Tony Blair’s old school, Fettes College in Edinburgh. You can see why.

They are required to teach GCSE physical education because the fee paying establishment does not do Standard grade. Three of their five weekly periods are classroom bound. And when they teach games they sometimes find themselves working until eight o’clock at night and all day Saturday.

It may be excellent preparation for late night parliamentary sittings. But it seems less than appropriate preparation for a career in a Scottish comprehensive.
