Headteacher Frances Diver told the silver jubilee celebrations at St Albert’s primary in Glasgow: “Do you remember the slogan for 1973? It was ‘Plant a Tree in ‘73’. There are many people in this school who would like to get their hands on all those pupils who planted so many trees around the school then. It’s so bad that we’ve had to buy the janitor a leaf hoover.”
